2015 Performances

Our shows usually take place outside in public spaces so you don't need to do anything except show up and enjoy. We're still waiting on details for some of the gigs later in our schedule, but we'll post more exact schedules when we know them.

April 24 - 26

NEFFA Festival. Weekend Event. Mansfield, MA.

The New England Folk Festival Association (NEFFA) puts on its annual music and dance festival each April. It has become the first dance performance for many morris and sword teams throughout the northeast and features continuous performances at the main entrance throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. This year we perform late Saturday afternoon.


  • Saturday at 3:00 pm at the main entrance – performing with Charles River, Ring O' Bells.

May 1

May Day Celebration, Thornden Park swimming pool 1), Syracuse, NY

This year is the 35th May Day celebrated at Thornden Park by Syracuse's original morris team, Thornden Morris. It is the Hound's 31st appearance. We are joined this year by Ribbonsteel Rapper and Heartwood Morris. Later in the morning, we will be performing at a few other locations, listed below.


  • 6:00 am (dawn!) - 7:30 am – Thornden Park swimming pool – note change of location!
  • 9:30 am – New School
  • 10:30 am – Montessori School
  • 11:45 am – Baldwinsville Public Library

May 17

Mayfaire on the Green, Holland Patent, NY

We've performed at a number of Ren Faires and they are always a hoot. We've appeared at Mayfaire since 2013.

May 29 - 31

Kettle of Fish Ale. Weekend Event. Lexington, Concord, and Boston, MA.

Hosted by Red Herring Morris. We've attended this ale often in the past and it has always been a lot of fun. This year should be no exception.

June 30

Onondaga Lake Park, Liverpool, NY

Cancelled due to weather – The Hounds and Thornden Morris hosting a local evening of dance from 6:30 pm until 8:00 or so along the bike path in Onondaga Lake Park.

July 24 - 26

Dog Days Ale. Weekend Event. Trumansburg, NY and environs.

We've held this ale pretty much annually since 1994. As usual, we will be hosting it in the Finger Lakes surrounding Trumansburg, NY. See the Dog Days Ale page for more detailed information.

We will be doing a short performance at Forman Park on E. Genesee St (across from Strong Hearts Cafe). Hosted by Thornden Morris.

Toronto Morris Ale, Weekend Event. Toronto, ON.

This is one of the great urban Ales in North America and is attended by a broad spectrum of wonderful teams. This is always a lot of fun but, inconceivably, we haven't attended since 2007.

September 11 - 13

Onion River Ale. Weekend Event. Burlington, VT and environs.

An urban ale hosted by On The Border Morris and A Sworded Affair. We attended for the first time in 2014 and it was a lot of fun.

Westcott Street Cultural Fair. Syracuse, NY.

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is a annual event celebrating the diversity of cultures in the free-thinking university neighborhood long known as the Westcott Nation. We will be sharing a performance slot with Thornden Morris.

October 9 - 12

The Harvest Ale. Columbus Day weekend. Franklin County, MA.

The Harvest Ale is an annual dance event co-hosted by Juggler Meadow Morris Men and Wake Robin Morris. Their publicity describes it as “Traditional Ritual English Dance in High Autumn” which you have to admit sounds intriguing. On Saturday, we are touring with Juggler Meadow and Jack in the Green and on Sunday, we are touring with Wake Robin and Jack in the Green.

Due to construction at the Thornden Park water tower, the location had to be changed this year.
