Syracuse Country Dancers Cream of the Crop Dance, Syracuse, NY.

The Hounds will be doing a demonstration dance at intermission.

April 17

Tartan Day, The City Hall Commons “Greenhouse”, Downtown, Syracuse, NY.

Performance at 2:00. Part of the National Tartan Day observations held by the St. Andrew's Society Of Central New York. We don't do Scottish dances but they seem to like us none-the-less. Maybe if we were more specific about what border and which side of it…

April 23-25

NEFFA Festival, Natick, MA.

The New England Folk Festival Association (NEFFA) puts on its annual music and dance festival each April. It has become the first dance performance for many morris teams throughout the northeast and features continuous performances on Saturday and Sunday. We'll be performing in the courtyard from 4:00-5:00 pm, sharing the timeslot with Vineyard Swordfish and Muddy River.

May 1

May Day Celebration, Thornden Park water tower, Syracuse, NY.

This year is the 24th May Day celebrated on Water Tower Hill by Syracuse's original morris team, Thornden Morris. It is the Hound's 20th appearance. This year will see performances by three area morris and sword teams, as well as the much anticipated mummer play, and, as always, the Maypole dance. Come help us dance up the sun and welcome in the spring.

Performance at 6:00 am (dawn!) with Thornden Morris, Ribbonsteel Rapper, Grindstone Creek Morris, Heartwood Morris (Ithaca), and Snowbelt Morris (Rochester).

Dancing later in the day for all who will:

  • 10:00 - 10:45 Onondaga Lake Park
  • 11:00 - 11:45 Webster Pond
  • 1:00 - 1:45 Gannon's Isle

May 15

Red Herring Morris Day of Dance, Salem, Lynn & Nahant, MA.

This is our 7th trip to Boston for this dance event hosted by Red Herring Morris.

May 16

Lilac Sunday, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, MA.

Lilac Sunday is a spring open house for Harvard's Arnold Arboretum. Most of the Boston-area teams get together for a day of dance to help celebrate. Rose Galliard Northwest Morris coordinates and hosts the dancing. This is the Hounds' 5th appearance.

June 11-13

London Ale, London, Ontario and environs.

This will be the Hounds first appearance at this noteworthy international ale hosted by Forest City Morris. It is a good sized ale with teams representating all the forms of morris: northwest, cotswold, border, rapper, and longsword. Touring centers on London on Saturday and then out to smaller towns on Sunday.

July 16-18

Dog Days Ale, Trumansburg, NY and environs.

We've held this ale pretty much annually since 1994. This will be our 7th time hosting it in the Finger Lakes surrounding Trumansburg, NY.

July 31-August 1

Ontario Renaissance Festival, Milton, ON.

The Hounds are the guests of Hamilton, Ontario's Cats on Fire where we will be performing together on the Fortune Playhouse stage at the Ontario Renaissance Festival. Shows at 11:00, 12:30, and 2:00 on both Saturday and Sunday.

August 10

Thornden Morris Tuesday Night Danceout, Manlius, NY.

The Hounds will be performing as guests of Thornden Morris who, once a month in the summer, danceout in lieu of their regular Tuesday night practice. We will be at Sno-Top, the classic ice cream stand on Rt. 92, just north of the swan pond.

September 3-5 (Labor Day Weekend)

Toronto Ale, Toronto, ON.

This is one of the great urban Ales and is attended by a broad spectrum of wonderful teams; always a lot of fun for us. Hosted by Green Fiddle Morris.

Westcott Street Cultural Fair, Syracuse, NY.

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is a annual event celebrating the diversity of cultures in the university neighborhood known as the Westcott Nation. Following the opening parade, the Hounds and Thornden Morris will be performing at 1:30 at the corner of Westcott and Beech Sts and again at 3:15 at the World Stage at Vinny's.

October 31

MOST : Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology, Syracuse, NY.

We'll be dancing at the MOST at 1:10, as part of a series of weekend events showcasing various forms of dance. In conjunction with the Imax showing of “Pulse: A STOMP Odyssey.”

November 6-7

NOMAD Festival of Traditional Music, Art, and Dance
Wilbur Cross High School, New Haven, CT.

Performance at 2:00-3:00. We'll perform with New Haven Morris & Sword, either in the cafeteria area or adjacent courtyard, depending on the weather.
