2014 Performances

Our shows usually take place outside in public spaces so you don't need to do anything special to attend. Just show up and enjoy.

April 25 - 27

NEFFA Festival. Weekend Event. Mansfield, MA.

The New England Folk Festival Association (NEFFA) puts on its annual music and dance festival each April. It has become the first dance performance for many morris and sword teams throughout the northeast and features continuous performances at the main entrance throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. This year we perform late Saturday afternoon.


  • Saturday at 5:00 pm at the main entrance – performing with Ha'Penny and Mystic Garland.

May 1

May Day Celebration, Thornden Park swimming pool 1), Syracuse, NY

This year is the 34th May Day celebrated on Water Tower Hill by Syracuse's original morris team, Thornden Morris. It is the Hound's 30th appearance. We are joined this year by Ribbonsteel Rapper and Heartwood Morris. Later in the morning, we will be performing at a few other locations, listed below.


  • 6:00 am (dawn!) - 7:30 am – Thornden Park swimming pool – note change of location!
  • 9:30 am – New School
  • 10:30 am – Montessori School
  • 11:30 am – Alfa's Restaurant – parking lot by the golf course


May 17

Mayfaire on the Green, Holland Patent, NY

We've performed at a number of Ren Faires and they are always a hoot. This will be our second appearance at this Mayfaire in Holland Patent.


  • 1:30 & 2:10 pm – Holland Patent Village Green

June 7

Snowbelt Morris Day of Dance, Canandaigua, NY

Snowbelt has put on this day of dance for a number of years and a number of the Syracuse teams often attend. Canandaigua is lovely place to perform.


  • 10:30 am – Canandaigua Farmers Market
  • 11:45 am – Main Street
  • 3:00 pm – Thompson Hospital's Continuing Care Center

August 8 - 10

Dog Days Ale. Weekend Event. Trumansburg, NY and environs.

We've held this ale pretty much annually since 1994. As usual, we will be hosting it in the Finger Lakes surrounding Trumansburg, NY. See the Dog Days Ale page for more detailed information.

August 11

Town of Clay Wee Puck Fair. Project:GREEN Community Garden, Clay, NY

A local event put on by the Town of Clay, with storytelling, the crowning of King Puck and the Hounds playing and dancing.

September 7

Renaissance Revels Festival & Artisan Market, Rome, NY

We performed at this festival in 2012 and had a lot of fun.

September 19 - 21

Burlington Ale. Weekend Event. Burlington, VT and environs.

Hosted by On The Border Morris. Tour stops on Saturday and Sunday include the Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival, the Church Street Marketplace, the Ben and Jerry's factory, and the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Other attendees include On the Border Morris, Midnight Capers, A Sworded Affair, Red Herring, Handsome Molly, Wake Robin, Canterbury Morris, and Stick 'n the Mist.


  • 10:30 am - 12:00 pm – front gateway of the Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival
  • 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm – Burlington's City Hall Park and the top of the Church St. Marketplace
  • 4:00 - 6:00 pm – Lake Champlain Waterfront in Burlington


  • 11:00 am - 1:00 pm – Ben and Jerry's in Waterbury
  • 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm – Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury

September 21

Westcott Street Cultural Fair. Syracuse, NY.

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is a annual event celebrating the diversity of cultures in the free-thinking university neighborhood long known as the Westcott Nation.


  • 1:25-1:45 pm – Phi Beta Sigma Dance Stage (at Wacheva on Harvard St)

October 10 - 13

The Harvest Ale. Columbus Day weekend. Franklin County, MA.

The Harvest Ale is an annual dance event co-hosted by Juggler Meadow Morris Men and Wake Robin Morris. Their publicity describes it as “Traditional Ritual English Dance in High Autumn” which you have to admit sounds intriguing. Teams attending include Jack in the Green and Newtowne Morris Men.



December 1

Town of Clay Festival of the Season Tree Lighting, Clay, NY.

We'll be taking part in the annual Town of Clay Christmas Tree lighting, performing in front of the town hall and then leading a processional to the tree lighting ceremony.


  • 6:15 - 6:45 p.m. – dancing in front of town hall
  • 7:00 p.m. – leading the procession to the tree lighting

December 7

Festival of Trees: Everson Museum. Syracuse, NY.

We will bring in the Christmas season with dancing, singing, and a mummers play. Performances by the Hounds, Thornden Morris, and Ribbonsteel Rapper.


  • 3:00 pm - Everson stage.
Past Performances
Due to construction at the Thornden Park water tower, the location had to be changed this year.
