May 1

May Day Celebration Thornden Park water tower, Syracuse, NY.

This year is the 22nd May Day celebrated on Water Tower Hill by Syracuse's original morris team, Thornden Morris. It is the Hound's 18th appearance. This year will see performances by four area morris and sword teams, as well as the much anticipated mummer play, and, as always, the Maypole dance. Come help us dance up the sun and welcome in the spring.

Performance at 6:00 am (dawn!) with Thornden Morris, Ribbonsteel Rapper, Heartwood Morris and Griffin's Corners Morris.

Red Herring Morris Day of Dance, Salem & Nahant, MA.

May 12

Lilac Sunday, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, MA.

Lilac Sunday is a spring open house for Harvard's Arnold Arboretum. Most of the Boston-area teams get together for a day of dance to help celebrate. Rose Galliard Northwest Morris coordinates and hosts the dancing. This is the Hounds' third appearance.

June 1

Herb Festival Baltimore Woods, Centers for Nature Education, Marcellus, NY.

Performance at 3:15 pm.

July 27-28

Dog Days Ale, Trumansburg, NY and environs.

We've held this ale pretty much annually since 1994. This will be our fifth time hosting it in the Finger Lakes surrounding Trumansburg, NY.

September 22

Westcott Street Cultural Festival, Syracuse, NY.

We usually dance in the parade and one or two stands in the street in front of the Petit Library.

October 11-13, 2002 (Columbus Day Weekend)

Bluemont Ale, Leesburg, VA.

Host team: Bluemont Morris. It is all but certain that we will attend this wonderful Ale. We'll be joining over 20 teams dancing in various places around Virginia and Maryland.

October 25-27

NOMAD Festival of Traditional Music, Art, and Dance
Newtown High School, Newtown, CT.

Schedule: performing at 2:00-3:00 with Mianus River and Six-in-Hand Sword and (possibly) again at 3:00-4:00 with New Haven Morris & Sword and New World Sword.

November 2

Hamilton Farmer's Market, Hamilton, NY.

We will be dancing during the morning starting at 11:00 at the Hamilton Farmer's Market. The market is held at the Pavilion on the Hamilton Village Green.
