Hounds Web Site Credits
The Hounds webpage is designed and maintained by Tom Keays, who is also available to design your site. Contact Tom for a rates schedule.
The website is hosted at LIShost.Org, a company that seems to especially cater to librarians. The technical goodies they supply us and their good support make "living" here very pleasant. Thanks Blake!
Thanks to Mike Miller, our border dance fore, for the dance descriptions. His original version (sans the tunes) are found at URL: http://web.lemoyne.edu/~millermj/border/. Contact Mike if you want him to come to your town to lead a border morris workshop. The dances are indexed, along with corresponding tunes, in the dance pages.
The tunes themselves were notated using BarFly, Phil Taylor's abc music notation program for the Macintosh computer. Thanks to David Smukler for his suggestions on settings.
The Hounds' brochure was written and produced by Tom Keays using Adobe InDesign software. The cover art (originally designed for the 1998 Dog Days Ale T-shirt) was drawn by Erik Piston.
The image rotator used on the Welcome page, is adapted from "A Better Image Rotator", by Dan Benjamin, originally published in A List Apart.
The "What's New" section is maintained using MovableType blogging software which, by the way, also provides the RSS 1.0 and 2.0 newsfeeds for our pages.
The url for the Bassett Street Hounds's website is bassett-street-hounds.org -- that's two esses and two tees. Please note that I will continue to maintain the PURL http://purl.oclc.org/NET/hounds, but it is a fairly safe assumption that we will be using the distinctive domain name in all future publicity. {A PURL is a Persistent URL that will stay the same even if this website moves to another URL on the web.)
